Prehnite

Prehnite was first described in 1788, the first mineral to be described in South Africa. A light apple green color is most desirable for gems but it comes in many other colors. Formerly strictly a collector's stone for the most part recent discoveries have made gem quality stones available to the general public. Nice green, translucent stones can be expensive as carat weight rises.
