Antique Clerical Robe, Vestment, France, 16th-17th Century, Beautiful Embroidery, Gold Thread
Very old Catholic vestment estimated to be fashioned in the 16th or 17th century. The garment has had some repairs over the centuries, (not unusual for textiles this old ) look closely at photos. Finding a garment this old in this shape is not easy and the fact that the church cared for this has given it above normal care and easy handling. The original embroidery is French floral and the trim is real gold thread. Would be excellent framed or you may buy special wall displays to hang old vestments and kimonos. Very unique, piece of history. This could actually be older than we are quoting. BEST OFFER.
