Notes - Extremely Rare Gem from Russia. Second Rarest Green Color, Gorgeous Kiwi-Mint and only due to the Ekaterina we sold from our collection being the absolute finest and it was 80 carats and slightly more saturated thus this is second finest gem in existence unless the families or estates of the old, “Robber Baron’s,” release material for sale; which has not happened since the material was bought pre-auction by the elite of NY when the monarchy collapsed and the Czar of Russia and his family were murdered.

History - The royal collection (or what could be found,) of Russia was auctioned at Tiffany & Co. in 1919. mysteriously items listed in the auction catalogue disappeared the night before the auction. It is widely believed many of these were purchased by J.P. Morgan at a price that could not be refused.

Origin - This gem was mined from the same old Royal mines (Owned by the Czar of Russia,) now closed In Siberia Russia. These mines produced the original Imperial (Pink, Pinkish-Red, Vivid, Sky Blue and the elusive green,) Topaz before it became a brand name for any gold to pink Topaz in Brazil and other spots naming anything not white and in red, pink, green and blue as Imperial as a “brand name having no connection with royal declaration like the true Russian gems.

Quality/No Treatment - This material is 15.14 carats of flawless clarity with NO HEAT, no coating, no diffusion or heat and certainly none of the usual radiation often applied without concern for any governmental regulation for safety. This gem is NOT IRRADIATED. And you may never have the opportunity to buy it again.

Privenanace - From mine to market this gem has remained within one man’s care. We bought two of these remarkable gems which had been vaulted as rough for sone time. See it’s large sister gem on our site, listed as sold, breaking records for faceted, jewelry quality, green topaz. The Ekaterina Topaz, a Flawless 80 carat saturated, Intense mint green topaz was also cut by Mathias after a very dangerous procurement and movement by train out of Russia at great risk long ago as gem rough and was not cut until 2016
