Notes - What we love about this gem. - This gem was discovered in Burma. It has the uniquely Burmese quality of almost glowing in low light. Cleopatra referred to peridot with this phenomena as her, "Evening-emeralds." This gem was cut to accentuate its flawless clarity and top color. Any hint of a flaw would be easily seen. This gem was cut for the high-end Chinese market and headed for Christie's when I intercepted it and literally begged for it. It is cut intentionally as an 8.88 carat. 8 is a sacred and lucky number to the Chinese. All Photos Are Indoor Available Light.
